XI Folks,
On testing the adapter_plain service at SICF . I am getting no outcome( a plain IE page is opening up with message "Internet Explorer was unable to link to the Web page you requested. The page might be temporarily unavailable." ) .
My questions :
1. Is it o.k or really an issue ? as i am planning to run a http client scenario so i have doubt : how http client will hit the adapter_plain service ?
2. What should be the correct outcome ?
3. Is there any other way to test the same service apart from SICF ?
Regards,
Check that there is no firewall that blocks your HTTP connections from your workstation to the server.
In serveral clients, XI was a new system and they did not know what ports should be open so, they open sapgui access but not the java and/or abap ports for http connections. In those cases I had to provide a list of ports to be able to work.
regards.

Right click adapter_plain and make sure it is activated. Also while right clicking u have the option of Display service and Test Service. When u choose test service, it should prompt for WAS password. In the display service, u should have standard logon parameters set for this service.

Hi,
Did you try your HTTP connection to an external server.
Open transaction SM59
Create a new http destination an test the http connection.
If it is loading you have no problem
For example type in your
http host: www.webservicex.net
Path: /stockquote.asmx
Service no:80
Then press "connection test". If you get an Status HTTP Response 200 you can go ahead with your scenario
Good luck
