Status Network configuration

Hi All,

I have a requirement on statuses and digital signature.

the statuses are,

initiator/J.E - who initiates document

Asst. Manager - reviewer/reject

Sr. Manager - reviewer/reject

Deputy Manager - reviewer/reject (thru digital signature)

Deputy Chairman - Approver (digital signature)

Chairman - Approver (digital signature)

in this status flow except Chairman, whoever rejects, the document should go back to the initiator along with the notification.

the document approval by Deputy Chairman and Deputy Manager needs digital signature and if either rejects the document must flow to initator along with the notification.

Also, if either of person from the status network wont respond for 2-3 days the system should automatically pass to the next status or the previous status so dat the preceding person can approve.

Digital signature is needed for tracking the comments by approver and also to finalize the approval.

Can this be posible in Standard DMS without using any workflow/BADI?

please let me know the steps if its in standard DMS and even if its using workflow/BADI.

Hi,

for a scenario like yours definitely require workflow as timelimit is involved.

initiator/J.E - who initiates document - create first status

Asst. Manager - reviewer/reject - second status

Sr. Manager - reviewer/reject - second status

Deputy Manager - reviewer/reject (thru digital signature) second status

Deputy Chairman - Approver (digital signature) - third status

Chairman - Approver (digital signature) - fourth status

Create digital signature with RELEASE strategy for second status for the 3 group of people.

Too many statuses will complicate the system.

The workflow person will able to create W/F based on these 4 statuses and deadlines.

assuming that the users are not dynamic- will require different approach.

Hi,

initiator after creating the document forwards to Asst. Manager status, Asst. Manager forwards to Sr. Manager, Sr. Manager forwards to Deputy Manager, Deputy Manager will forward to Deputy Chairman, Deputy Chairman will approve through digital signature where the document gets released and locked.

except Chairman and Initiator all can reject if required.

the query is, if Deputy Manager approves thru Digital signature then it will be released and locked then how the next persons will review and approve.

is there any method where 3 persons in the status network can approve thru digital signature?

Hi

For last status which is by Chairman put LOCK status and Release Indicator.

Dont put Release indicator to intermedia statuses

Hi,

If lock status is set for intermediate statuses, will the next status person be able to attach or edit files attached to DIR?

No, if it is locked they will not be able to change it. That is why its referred to as a locked status.

Hi Manoj,

The answer to your query is No and Yes

No: If you have set the intermedia status Locked to your DIR then you cannot change the DIR except Object links.

Yes: If you have any status with Initial status type then you can change the DIR status only to that initial status type status.

Where based on authorizations the user can change the contents.

That is the reason, i have mentioned only last status needs to be Locked.

hi manoj,

Based on your requirement , I would like to suggest you to take the help of ABAP and workflow.

for workflow you need to call some function module.

your requirement will get fulfill, if you have both workflow and abap.
