Hi All,
Can multilingual support in MDM convert one language to another language automatically or
Do we need to enter the data in each language manually in MDM?
Can anyone tell me about this future in MDM?
Thanks
Narendra
Hi,
MDM have inherited language feature. This supports if the data of some language is not entered, it will be inherited from primary or secondary language.
Please refer to these docs for some insight.
Hope this helps,

MDM can import data into Multilingual forms. If you have data present in various langauges, then you can make your reposiotry as multilingual.
After properly importing the data, You will find the values present in the various languages as present in the Data Manager under the Language Detail Tab.
This process can be done importing and does not require manual intervention.
However, it cannot convert 1 language into other. It can only take in if data is present in different languages.
Hope it helps.

Hi Narendra,
Simply speaking MDM just provides multilingual support doesnt mean that it converts from one language to other but only supports data in multiple languages.
If data is not entered for any specific language it inherits the same from primary language but it wont convert.

Hi Narendra,
SAP MDM does not have the intelligence to convert one language to another.
Yes it does have the multilingual feature which can be achieved by enabling multilingual feature to Yes, but for this you need to have the source data in that particular language.
Apart from this we also have something called primary inheritance and secondary inheritance.
Primary inherited language is the language whose field value will be considered in case the default language value is not present. The same is the case with secondary inherited language in absence of default and primary languages.
Hope it helps.
Thanks,
Minaz
