Hello,

IMG - enterprise structure - definition - logistics execution - Define, copy, delete, check warehouse number.

Here create new entries & save.

IMG - enterprise structure - assignment - logistics execution - Assign warehouse number to plant/storage location.

Here you assign the warehouse to the combination of "plant+storage location".

The baove was all about warehouse management in the organization structure.

As far as warehouse management configuration is concerned:

IMG - logisitcs execution - warehouse management. Here go through the following & do the settings as per your requirement:

1. Master Data.

2. Strategies.

3. Activities.

4. Storage Units.

5. Planning and Monitoring.

With best regards,

Hi,

please go through the brief explanation of warehouse structure, which may clarify ur doubts.

Warehouse Structure:

The major components that will construct a Warehouse are mentioned below.

1. Storage Type: Storage Type is nothing but a Storage Area or warehouse Facility or Warehouse Zone that we defined for Warehouse Number. It is a physical or logical sub division of a Warehouse Complex. A Storage Type consists of one or several Storage Bins.

Ex: Bulk Storage, Open Storage, High Rack Storage, etc...

2. Storage Section: It is an organizational sub division of Storage Type that groups the Storage Bins together with similar features for the purpose of u201CPut Away Stocku201D. We must create at least one Storage Section for each Storage Type.

3. Picking Area: It groups the Storage Bins together with similar features for the purpose of u201CPicking Activitiesu201D.

4. Storage Bins: A Storage Type generally contains several Storage Spaces or Sloughs. These are called Storage Bins in the Warehouse Management. The Storage Bin is a smallest available unit of space a Warehouse. The Storage Bin therefore describes the position in the warehouse where the goods can be stored since the address of the storage bin is derived from a Co-ordinate System. We assign each storage bin to specific Warehouse Number and Storage Type and to a Storage Section. We can define Maximum Weight, Total Capacity, Fire Continent Section, Storage Bin Type, etcu2026

5. Quant: It is a stock of any material with same features in one Storage Bin.

6. Door: Door is the place where the goods arrive at or leave the warehouse. It is an organizational unit that is assigned to the Warehouse Number. The Doors are located in a close proximity to the respective Staging Area.

7. Staging Area: It is an organizational unit that is assigned to the Hierarchy of warehouse Number. It is used to organize the Goods Flow in the Warehouse. It is assigned to Doors.

Ex: Goods Receipt Staging Area and Goods Issuing Staging Area.

Hope it helps..

Hello,

The difference will be the warehouse number will be assigned to the plant in SPRO --> Assignment.

There willbe a couple of steps more to do if we have WM activated in the enterprise structure.

While creating the material master WM views should be activated, while raising the stock, it needs to be maintained in the ware house bins. While creating delivery, transfer order needs to be created and confirmed before PGI...etc.
