If I am not wrong, then you want to know how MDM maintains the data coming in from various source systems. MDM has Reote Key Mapping feature in it, through which MDM maintains a remote Key ID for all the records coming in from 1 systems. Likewise MDM can maintain the remote keys for various source systems.

Hence in MDM, we know which record is coming in from which system and then after enrichment/consolidation we export the data back to the respective system taking help from the remote key.

Each source system is created as a remote system and a port is assigned for the incoming data and same for outgoing data.

Go to->Reposiotry Maintenance->Other system tables->Remote system tables/ports

MDM has a capabililty of taking data in various formats like .CSV, XML, excel, access etc. In MDM data is stored together and while exporting the data can be exported in any of the above mentioned formats.

We first create a repository according to the requirement and then can maintain data in various tables presnet for ex, Hierarchy,taxanomies etc.

Hence in MDM , we can maintain the data coming from various systems and export data in their formats.

Hi,

There is a concept of Remote Key in MDM.

Data Manager stores Remote Key ( Source System) for each record.

If u import some records using Import Manager, then u have to give Remote System value.

MDM store this value against each record.

Go to data Manager........... Right click on any record n choose Edit Key Mapping Option.

U can see source system from which it has imported.
