Hi,

Details about APO are given in the link of SAP HELP provided to you already.

In nutshell....APO is a pur planning engine with no execution. SAP R/3 is an execution system. so there is no burden of execution on APo serevr , so it can focus fully on planning functioality using complex alogorithms and giving results with good speed. This was not feasible in R/3 considering load of execution.

APO covers advanced version of PP ( production Planning ) and much more.APO can do simultanoeus capacity check and material availability check during planning which ws not feasible in R/3 PP.

APO covers diiferent submodules...1) Demand planning 2) Supply network planning 30 Producion planning and Scheduling 4) Gloabal Available to promise 5) Transportaion and Vehicle Scheduling
