Support Package error

Hi Experts,

Currently i am installing suppport package for PI 7.10.

SP : SAP_BASIS.

Just newly installed the sap system -> after kernel upgrade, i applied latest SPAM verion - 27.

NowBusiness package SAP -basis is in the process. I started the package three hours back. still is in the process. i chcked the log files /usr/sap/trans/tmp/SAPIB71006.<SID>

Observed that error says `entry for SOTR_TEXT rejected - language not installed`

I have not installed the language import till now. I am wondering that that could be an issue.

My logs are keep updating. symptom tells than till import is in the progress.

Could someone reply, Does the Language import must for Support package installation ?.

Now Spam screen says that `Main import ` on the screen.

Hi,

Recently I read many threads saying that Basis Pack is taking quite a longtime.

It seems the size also big ..in some cases it took longer than 7 hours.

So no need to be panic...as I said wait and watch...

If it is progressing no problem..keep looking at logs etc.

Good luck with other patches.

Finally all the packages have been completed successfully..

Except SAP_Basis., rest of them all completed with in six hours.

Hi,

There is no dependency on language installation for Support packs.

It is not must .They both are seperate.Languages are installed if you need them that is all.

In your case I do not see any errors ..it is just showing the log...seems to me that it is doing some particular thing if language is imported ..And in your system it seems no language is installed so it is just saying the same.

I think no need to worry..wait and watch..

Hi,

Generally importing of SAP_BASIS Patches takes a lot of time,

Wait for few more hours. Any ways You will the current status in the SPAM,Prior ask your users no to login into the system.

SAP_Basis package has been successfully completed. As u said language import not required to update support packages.

It took me around 7 hours to complete the update.Now i have started the Rest of the Business package.

It seems its totally killing my time. I think it shouldnot take this much time to complete a single package I need to install other packages like .

SAP_ABA, PI_Basis,SAP_BW and ST_PI.
