Roles and responsibility of a techno functional SD consultant

I want to know what exactly is the roles and responsibility of a techno functional SD consultant?

Hi,

My understanding of techno functional SD consultant is as follows:

Generally role of such person is different than simple consultant. You may be having role of solution architecture / member of solution architecture team for SD functionality or may be expert to solve some complex SD issues and help client / SD consultant in resolving the same.

As functional expert you understand the client business and appreciate his requirement / business need. Many such requirements are not addressed by standard SAP. However you are expected to suggest some customizing and meet the basic business need. If complete requirement is must and if it calls for some development you can suggest the same with pros and cons of the same before actually technical person takes up the same on clientu2019s approval for the same.

Good day. The role for :

1. Technical SD Consultant - you must able to perform ABAP debugging & programming, EDI, possibility workflow, note implementation & etc.

You may be expected

2. Functional SD consultant - you must be familiar with SD processes & the detail customizing within your responsible area. And perhaps have to help your potential client/company on the workaround solution which is not available in the standard.

Hi,

I have not seen any Consultant so far holding both functional and technical responsibilities, though a person having both the skills will add some more incremental value.

Functional guy will do normal work like, Reqmt gathering, FS writing, testing, Test case preparation, user training etc.

As a Techno functional the same guy knows little bit more about tables, FMs, programs routines etc and hence he will be helping the Tech team during development to optimise the performance, optimise the queries in programs etc. Also haivng some knowledge of technical features, help in writing a better FS, etc.
