Hi,
I know about Technincal land scape and Business Landscape and what is exact use of system land scape what is purpose of it.
Hi
System Land Scape is nothing but while implementing SAP, normally a setup will be maintained so that the implementation process will go from scratch to golive.
Normally it consisits of
1. Develpment server (which will be further devided into Sand Box and Golden client)
2. Quality Server (Which is used to test the scenarios)
3. Production Server (which is used in realtime)
All the development, configs will be done in develpment server.
Golden client is nothing but in this server there will not be any master data, only to generate transport request numbers while doing cofig. can be used.
This requests are moved into Quality or Test Server, so that, users will test the scenarios and give their feedback. Once every thing is perfect as per the client requirements then all these will be moved to Production.
Production is real time system, where users use in their reguler business.
All the transports are moved by Basis consultants on the proper approvals from business.
All these servers are maintained at client place, and the users and consultans will access these systems through a saparate VPN (private networks) using user speicic login ids and pass words.
Hope this is clear.
Thanks

Hi,
SLD is the place where u can define systems that are existing in ur landscape. using these systems u can transfer data from one system to another using PI.
creation of a system comprises of products, software components, technical system, business system.

What is a S/W UNIT? why is it created?
-->The Netweaver package NW2004, NW2004s etc comes with verious
software units are like the BP ERP, LSO CP and XSS.

What is a S/W COMPONENT? why is is created?
--->
Software components combine components (DCs) to larger units for delivery and deployment.
u2022 Every top-level component must be assigned to exactly one software component.
u2022 Child components always belong to the same software component as their parent.
u2022 The assignment of DCs to software components is not static and may change over time.
u2022 Software components cannot be nested into each other.
Software components have globally unique names, which are structured according to the rules for DC names. You must define the name when you create the software component; the name cannot be changed later. Names of software components usually consist of a vendor ID and only one segment, such as sap.com/crm.
In XI scenario SLD is the information provider for the Integration Repository, Integration Directory and Integration Server
Integration Repository = Design time activites takes place here
Integration Directory = Configuration time activites takes plave here
Integration server = Runtime activites takes place here
what is a Technical System? why is it created?
Technical system is a phisical machine, it have a IP. Can be a BBDD, ERP, J2EE ......... a Business System is a logical term that we use into the Business Scenarios and represent these Technical System that we had created.
In the SLD, you have SAP server details as a Technical system . Then Business System is created for this.
Registering a new technical system in SLD - ABAP based
what is a Logical System? why we create it while creating of Business System?
-->In SAP terms, a logical system is a client in a database. Messages are exchanged between logical systems.
Logical system is created in the SLD. For e.g you are posting an Idoc.
what is a Business system? What is use of creating it?-->
Business System have an entry in the SLD and Buiness Service do not.
Business Systems are used when you are sending data to and from an R3 system and can be of ABAP, JAVA and Third Party Types.
Hope this info is very useful to you...

hi,
generally speking:
in the SLD you define all the system which you will exchange information. also define the SWCV which later will be imported to integration Repository to define the propers structures to do a mapping and exchange Data.
in the SLD are the Repositorys of RWB,IR and ID.
the SLD interacts with abap and java stack.
In the SLD all you define the the parameters to transpor from one enviroment to another.
The SLD is a main tool of PI. with out SLD the integration could no be done.
for a technical description see some blogs, notes and PDF in previous post.
Thanks
Rodrigo

Hi ,
All the System within you boundary can be defined in u r SLD.It acts as a catalog for all other systems (Ex.Solution Manager / XI)
Technical System --> Physical System (IP Address)
Business System --> Clients (100, 200 ) on same IP or Diff IP.
This should be maintained and XI uses this message to communicate between two system
Without this Data XI would not commuicate
