Lean QM

Dear All

Like Lean WM is there any concept called Lean QM?

We do not want to go for a full blown QM and are looking at some way of having a watered-down QM implementation.

Any of you faced this situation and do you have any suggestions / inputs?

Regards

TOM

There is no real 'lean' QM. But QM can be implemented fairly easily depending on what you want to do. Config is mimimal in QM to start with unless you start fooing with user exits for a bunch of custom stuff.

You can make inspections as simple as one inspection plan for all materials that has no results recording and only a UD Pass/fail. Can't get much leaner that that.

It really depends on what you want to accomplish.

Thanks for your quick reply.

How do we set up inspection w/o results recording & only UD?

The primary reason for this requirement is user. They do not want to do results recording and would like to avoid doing lot of QM master data maintenance + QM transactions.

hi

for the material just tick mark the POST TO INSPECTION STOCK ,hence system will create inspection stock ,which you have make the usage decision alone.no need for result recording

Activate the appropriate inspection type in the material master. For the settings turn off defect recording and characteristics attributes. Turn on post to Inspec. stock.

You will need to create some Usage decision codes.

That should be all you need.

Where do you deactivate defect recording and characteristics attributes?

Thoses two settings are in the inspection type setup under the QM view in the material master.
