can anyone list out the issues in Sd perspective which we normally face during an upgrade proj from 4.7 to 6.0.

Hi Rajasekhar,

If the client is having any userexits which are pertaining to SD Module.the User exits will not be working in the ECC 6 but will be working in the Old System( 4.7).

Immediately will testing the scenarios the user will come up with that,some thing is not working in the new system but is working in the old system.

From that you will come to Know the issue, and Abaper will be taking care of that to activate the user exits if any.

For your information Please check the transaction code

CMOD and SMOD for finding the UserExits if any.

It really go experience in working in the upgrade project and you will be learning lot of things in that.

If it is a technical upgrade,the Funtional consultant job is to do the Regress Testing in Dev Server and Quality system.

More are less you will be come across with the technical issues for which abaper will be working on that.

Hi Rajasekhar,

Please find below the issues pertaining to Upgrade.which we come across in one of our upgrade.

1.UserExits will not work in the New Version ( ECC6)

for this Ask your Abaper to Activate the User Exits.

2.In ECC 6 Tranactions VA01, VL01N,VF01 will go for dump.

For which you have to apply OSS Notes for this.

3.Some Output types will not work / will go for dump.

Based on the message you get ask for your abaper to do the necessary corrections in the Program / Script etc.,

how do we come to know wt all the userexits are not working.

i mean how to find it.

would it be difficult task for us to do an upgrade proj.

Hi,

some times the data doesnt migrate properly, The Z Repots coding has to be changed, The T-Code is not working as per the desired function.

Hi Raj,

For example, There are lots of reports and tables and T-code which is coded or say is customized, when we upgrade from 4.7 to ECC6.0 , some of the coding standard is changed in ECC6.0, so a technical consultant has to Do the Required correction in the reports and tables.

One live example is that, In one of our client Which has 4.7 previously, on that they have developed their delivery in which Bill Of Lading should come in Text and Automatic Printing option was there., But after upgrading to ECCC6.0 It was not coming because some reports coding was not able to Pull the data.

Only when you do integration testing for all transaction codes and reports, you will be able to check whether it is working properly or not.
