Changes in Trial license policy

Hi all,

here is the official statement by SAP:

****************************************************************************************************************************

We at SAP take great pride in the vibrant communities we have fostered with the help of you, our passionate members and users. We value the trusted relationship we have built with you. To that end, would like to share some background on the recent changes to the SAP evaluation licensing procedures.

SAP has long provided evaluation licenses for different products. To foster adoption of our innovations and drive business. Recently, we learned that our evaluation licensing process was incorrectly allowing unlimited renewals of evaluation licenses.

Consequently, we have suspended the current process while we work to address the deficiencies and roll out a working process consistent with the goals for running a software trial program.

We will broadly communicate the revised policy with the SAP community when ready through the newsletters, blogs, forums available on the SDN and BPX community sites.

Until there is a new process in place, SAP trial downloads are limited to a single 30-day evaluation period. We strongly recommend that project and data artifacts created with trial software be backed up before the 30-day trial license expiration.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and assure you that we are working hard to provide you with an updated trial license policy quickly.

*************************************************************************************************

Kind regards,

Benny

Dear all,

This is just to let you know that there is an intense discussion on this topic in the SAP Mentors forum, and we are doing our best to resolve the NSP licensing issue with SAP. Please be patient with us for the time being while we try to get this sorted out.

Best regards,

Darren
