Hi,

A Business System is something that physically exists.

Let us assume, you want to download a file from a mainframe, transfer this file with file adapter and put it in an R/3 with an RFC call.

Then the mainframe and the R/3 are your business systems, which do physically exist.

You use Business Service, when the message is not addressed to a Business System in your system landscape. It is used mostly used in B2B scenario, where you don't know the Business Systems of your partner.

Thanks,

Madhu

Hi,

Business System:

1) Business system is a logical system, and there is an importance on physical existence of the system.

2) Also SLD entry is required.

3)It is generally used for SAP applications, this is just a general prinicple followed but not mandatory.

4)This is defined as part of the SLD and is a physical system whose parameters are well defined.

5(Business systems refers to the physical systems, for instance the R/3 system. You define the business systems in the SLD

Business Service:

1) You use a Business Service, when you do not have the System details of the the partner system to which you want to communicate. i.e. you have not configured the partner system in SLD.

2) Business Service is an Absract Unit with Sender and Receiver Interfaces,In this case you need to explicitly add the message interfaces while doing configuration in ID.

3) It is generally used for NON-SAP applications, this is just a general prinicple followed but not mandatory.

4) This is not defined as part of SLD and whose technical parameters are not completely known.

5)Business service is used when the message is not addressed to a business system. It is used mostly in B2B scenarios.

When we have complete details about a system we ll go for Business system. When we have partial details we will for business service. That is why a Business system is defined in SLD with all system details whereas Business service is defined in Integration Directory.

Business systems :

They are logical senders or receivers that exchange messages by using the Integration Server and that are entered in the System Landscape Directory.

The business systems in the System Landscape Directory relate to a system landscape. The business systems of business partners are therefore not entered in the System Landscape Directory. To be able to address such business partners logically, use communication components in the Integration Directory. A business system is a way of specifying a communication component in the Integration Directory more precisely (business system component).

Business Service :

It represents an abstract unit for addressing the senders and receivers of messages. You can use a business service to group interfaces.

It is useful to use business services when configuring cross-company process. Usually, the interface descriptions of the business partners involved are made publicly available. However, the system landscape of those involved is normally unknown, or only partly known, and cannot therefore be entered in the SLD (as a business system).

Hi

Business System

Business System is a logical representation of a Technical System.

Business System: BS is a conceptual representation of a logical system, such as a specific client on a SAP server or a 3rd party payroll application.

For defining Business Systems, the four important pieces of data are:

u2022Business System Name (must be unique in the landscape)

u2022Associated Technical system name, and if the Business System will be used with IDoc interfaces, a Logical System Name

u2022The Software Products (and associated SWCVu2019s) that are used by the Business System. The products are brought through from the Technical System definition; but for a particular Technical System, not all products will necessarily be associated with a particular Business System.

u2022The Related Integration Server.

A Business System addresses a business system as a sender or receiver of messages. Unlike an abstract service, a business system represents a specific (application) system in the system landscape. A business system (service) comprises information about the inbound and outbound interfaces and the software component versions of the business system.

Business Service

Business Service is a abstract representation of a System. For instance, www.google.com have a several system working together and IPs of this machines change eventually. When we use a Business Services like google we reference a computer that we don't know the phisical implementation

Business Service: Address an abstract business entity as the sender or receiver of messages.Using a business service, you can define the technical or business subunits of the companiesinvolved and then assign them the relevant interfaces. The business services are used whenconfiguring cross-company processes.

Hi,

Business system-->Physicals systems which use their communication channels and routing rules to communicate with other systems are called as Application Systems OR physical systems. When we have full details of application system the we are going to use the business system and it is created in the SLD so we dont have authorization to change the business system name.

Business Service-->A Business Service is an Abstract Unit

(which is not in System Landscape Directory) addressing Senders and Receivers of Messages. When we have partial details or no details of Technical system then we r going to use the business service. it is created in the ID. we can see and change it.

A Business system is something that physically exists

For example, if u want to download a file from a system

ABC, by using file adapter and then want to update the

content of this file into r/3 database by using RFc,then

the system abc and the r/3 will be ur business systems

i.e. they physically exists. Business Systems are

configured in SLD.

Business service is mostly usedin B2B Scenario (cross-

component),where you don't know the Business System of your

partner. In other words business Service will be used only

for those partners which do not have a physical landscape

set up . Business servces do not have an entry in SLD.

We will use Business Service when we dont know the SLD details and we know Partially

We can create the Business system in SLD

We can create the Business service in ID itself

Business service represents abstract, addressable units whose actual system landscape is not published or partially known.

Hey,

Business System is something that you create in SLD and then import it to ID.

It is used in cases where you know about the system interactig with XI.

There are 4 types: ABAP , JAVA , Third Party, Standalone.

You supply information such as host name, logical system name etc.

In case if you are not aware of the system that is communicating with XI then you should go for business Service .

In case of Business Service there is no need to create it in SLD. It is directly created in the ID.

The interface, which acts as receiver or sender, needs to be imported from IR.

Milan
