Hello Jay,

You can refer the MDM Data manager referance guide for the Standard Function Syntaxes. All the functions are describe there that how to use those in Validations and assignments.

Hi,

For validation u can always refer help.sap.com.

For mandatory fields u can write validation using IS_NOT_NULL(field name).If a filed is not filled up it gives validation error.

Also u can refer this document,which states how to make best use of validations.
