SAP development using GPS (Global Positioning System)

Is anybody aware if SAP is working on any project related to GPS (Global Positioning system) or technology similar to it.

Hello Kaustubh,

GPS and mobile GIS solutions are third party products.

But you can use them for SAP Mobile Infrastructure.

We are running a mobil GPS/GIS solution for the plaint maintainance of the streets of my hometown. We identify the SAP technical-object over GPS and mobile GIS. The solution works that we use the german third-party GIS/GPS product "VISmobil" to localize the SAP technical object in the field via GPS. Then the GIS/GPS System jumps to SAP Mobil Infrastructure for the order management via URL-parameter.(http://127.0.0.1:444/STREET/start?tplnr=12345-0010).

As far a i know MAM 3.0 is also shipped with a GIS interface.Then you can also use GPS/GIS solutions within MAM.
