Hello:
We have about 19 abap dialog instances located on one physical server (hostname) pertaining one SAP SID. my question is...why do we need to register 19 sapccm4x agents as this agent reads os information through saposcol (one saposcol per hostname) and some pre-configured log files, processes etc. I don't see any instance specific information getting passed through sapccm4x agent.
Is it recommended to register only one ccms agent "sapccm4x" instead 19 if so, how to register sapccm4x agent. documentaion says we should use instance profile while registering sapccm4x agent. ex...
sapccm4x -R pf=/sapmnt/<SID>/profile/<Instance profile>
I couldn't find information on service market place. would be apreciated your earliest responce.
Thanks,
Dialog response time is one example of an MTE that is instance specific. CCMS agents have lower overhead than RFC calls in terms of retrieving the ccms data.
I don't know why multiple registrations are required for sapccm4x agents...I've noticed that registering sapccmsr (j2ee) will automatically register with all instances.

If you are using it just for OS/system specific information like Filesystem usgae , CPU etc then I dont think you need multiple sapccm4x agent but if you want to monitor Instance specific information then you have to register multiple sapccm4x agent with Solman so that it can send Instance specific alert to Solution Manager
Thanks
