Material master Insp control for 04 insp types

We have process where we are creating a inspection lot 1 per order , batch, stor loc. Upon GR the the system creates a inspection lot. We then perfrom a stock posting using Qa11 to unrestricted stock for the full qty of the inspection lot. We do not perfrom a UD since we want to record results when all GRs have been completed. The status of the inspection lot goes to REL SPCO. Upon performing another GR the system is creating a new inspection lot. Should it not update the first inspection per the insp control set in the material master?

Hi,

System will create a new inspection lot if inspection lot does not have any stock means if inspection lot status is SPCO. System will add the new GR quantity in existing lot if inspection lot status is SPRQ mean stock posting required. Its a standard SAP functionality.

So this is over riding the insp control? Is there a work around to only have one inspection lot per order?

Hi

I believe you are talking about GR inspection for production order.

Checked function module QAPP_CUST_IP_CREATEyou are refering is for inspestion type 03 it appears but not for 04.

If you are making mulltiple GR's & inspection lot should be created for only one GR, I do not see any option.

If you are generating multiple batches & making one GR per shift , there is an option in customizing under the step

" defaults for inspection type".

In that screen there is field "Control ins Lot".

Quality Management>Quality Inspection>Inspection Lot Creation-->Define Default Values for Inspection Type

for your insp type i think it may be 04 inspection type insopection lot creation sub screen

Field = control inspection type = 1- create inspcction lot for a matreial document-material batch storage location combination...this will solve yr problem
