MI High Availability

Hi all,

I'm writing, becuase I have a doubt about MI and High Availability. Does Mobile Infrastructure supports a high availability server that works for a complete region? This complete region involves 6000 handhelds as an aproximate.

Also, do you know which one is the maximum number of devices a Mobile Infrastructure server can handle??

Thanks a lot and regards,

María M Monteverde

Hi maria,

As per my knwoledge, MI can easily handle 6000 handhelders. I never heard about maximum capability. in the beginning, MI may take time to get stabilize the system. but after that, it works fine.

Rewars If useful,

Thanks and Regards,

Hi Maria,

If you are using xMDSD 2.1 and MDSD 3.0, then please refer to Note 755712 as well.

System restrictions for xMDSD 2.1 and MDSD 3.0

You should not plan to connect more than 5,000 mobile devices

with MI against one ERP backend system. This is because of

manageability and adminstration features within MI.

In any case the number of mobile devices to be connected via MI

against one ERP system has to be less than 10,000 devices.

A range of more than 5,000 mobile devices (but less than 10,000)

might be possible. But to do so you have to get permission of

SAP. For that purpose please open an OSS message under the LE-DSD

component.

Hi Subhakanth and Sagar,

Thanks a lot for your answers, Subhakanth, how can I support this affirmations you've made. Why its the restriction of

manageability and adminstration features within MI and the number of 6000 Handhelds???

Thanks a lot again!!!

Best regards!

Hi Maria,

I think MI product management should be in a better position to answer this...
