SPAM taking long time

I'm updating(7.10 -Sp04 to 06) below mentioned support packages via SPAM.. (my SPAM version is 27, NetWeaver PI 7.10)

SAP_ABA

SAP_BASIS

PI_BASIS

ST_PI

SAP_BW

Dislplay /Difine => Selected all the above componenets and calculated the queue.

Currently import queue is in the process.

I am not sure whether i can select and update all the components at the same time.

Now SPAM is in "Main Import " running quite long time (Last two days).

How long may it take for the whole process of update ?

Well... where to begin....

What I learned by experience is that you don't do Support Packs in batches; you do them 1 by 1 so you can take action on a timely matter.

Now, depending on how many patches you selected can take quite a long time... but two days is a bit two much... have you checked the Import logs? Are you getting response from the system? (meaning sometimes when using Oracle your oraarch can get full as the patches create a lot of redo logs).

Yes . I am keep on watching the logs files, Observed that some execution is keep happening and log file size also keep on increasing every three to five minutes cycle.

No issues related to Space or oraarch and redolog files. It seems log switch happening. Oraarch log files also generating frequently.

I am checking the log files at /usr/sap/trans/log and tmp folder.

Is there any other place i have to check ?.

Seems like is moving then... its a waiting game... i presume you can see how many patches are in at the import log/action log so you can get an estimate in how long is going to take to finish.

Yes, Its moving..

I just logged into Abap,(Another session to see the error message in sm21 or st22) Found thatn below error message on the ST22. I see that the same error message has been repeated couple of times during the period of last two days.

What happened?

Error in the ABAP application program.

The current ABAP program "CL_GUI_ALV_GRID===============CP" had to be

interrupted because it contains

a statement that cannot be executed.

In the include "CL_SALV_WD_CONFIG_TABLE=======CU " in the line 65 of program

"SAPLKKBL " the following syntax

errors occur:

Thanks for your comments, Normally i used to do apply the pathes one by one. Unfortunately this time i selected all the components.

Import log/Action log:

SPAM>goto > import log>tp system log

SPAM>goto > action log

If usr/sap/trans/tmp is increasing date/size..i suggest you should wait...

Also check entries in TRBAT/TRJOB table through SE16. These tables should not be empty.

Hi,

Plz check the following:

1)Log Area of Database

2)Data Area of Database

3)Is the r3 able to connect to dd(via r3 trans -d)

4)Also check the tp toll by running report RSTPTEST in SE38.

Also try to find out the error in import logs and paste it here if you get any.

And as mentioned above by Juan in future Plz apply SPs one by one.
