What is Pre delivered content in SAP XI context ??

1. What is Pre delivered content in SAP XI .Can some one clearly explain this.

2. Why should a customer move from an existing middleware (webMethods) to SAP XI.What cud be the strong reasons possible.

Hi,

Pre delivered content is something that saves your time & effort in developing a scenarios. Once you installed this pre build

context you IR ( Data type, message type, Interface, Mapping and some part of CC is directly created on you XI/PI box).

There 2 types of content available. One is from Standard SAP apps ( CRM, SRM,MDM) whcih can be download from market place

The other form of content is directly given by vendor in form of adapter. Mostly this comes in from .tpz form and can be installed

on your XI box. You need to create SLD settings and ID settings and you are good to go.

I am not sure web method provides this kind of services.

Customer move from an existing middleware (webMethods) to SAP XI, because of the features of the XI.

XI is well suited for connecting SAP systems with each other and with non-SAP. SAP XI provides an integrated workflow engine that allows defining adapters to non-XML protocols and mappings to convert data content from source to target format.

XI comes handy particularly incase of SAP - Non SAP interfaces where you can import standard integration content. Also XI has got sophisticated open standard adapter framework which is very easy to implement and custom logic can be implemented using Adapter module programming.
