HI Dennis,

in that case you really should read the information I pointed you to.

MaxDB has special features for BW instances -

check SAP notes

#830468 FAQ: Business Warehouse System mit MaxDB

#1040431 FAQ: MaxDB BW-Feature Pack

What you had in mind was very likely the PACKED storage of Integer values in Facttables.

This together with the page clustering and the FACT/DIMENSION attributes are the core pillars of the BW Feature Pack.

The notes contain all necessary information to implement the BW Featurepack.

Regards,

Lars

The feature pack on BI, I thought was more about stream compression between the BI application and the MAXDB data cache and NOT data compression where actual storage is saved?

What about non-BI systems, for example, where MAXDB is the storage system for SAP content server, can data stored in the SAP CS be compress within MAXDB?

Cheers

Hi Denis,

what do you mean with table compression here?

Are you talking about a BI System?

In that case please refer to and the information referenced there.

Lars
