Everything is RFC in Dialog Process (???)

Hi Gurus

I have 2 app servers, A and B both version :

BBPCRM 400 with SP SAPKU40011

SAP_BASIS 620 with SP SAPKB62059

SMLG

Group_A to A

Group_B to B

SM51

in A : Dialog Update Enqueue Backg Spool Upd2 ICM

in B : Dialog ICM

Now in ST03N, I try to find the avg. Response Time of B, I can't find Dialog type and I see that all T-Code that run on B is recorded as RFC type. Strange, right?

SM04 - List User

I see my users connect to B as RFC not GUI ~!

Please help

Thank you.

Halomoan

Hi,

How is the saplogon of the users configured ?

Do you have users configured to use Group_B ?

Good question,

I checked

SMLG - User List

and I can see there are users inside A and B instance.

In STAD

I query for Workload with Task Type D, but I can only found 1 record.

One more thing, this is CRM system and all the users reach the server from SAP Web Dispatcher to query BSP page.

So the flow is like this

Client ---> Internet ---> Web Server ---> SAP Web Dispatcher ---> MS ---> ICM A or ICM B

Do you think this is the reason I don't have avg.Resp Time for Dialog type ?

Hi,

Any connection from browser (not bsp, here i mean Web AS Java) will show as RFC on ABAP side.

Thanks,

Hi again,

OK if it's the CRM web UI there is no saplogon involved.

Connect to the SAP web dispatcher web interface , usually on

https://webdispHost/sap/wdisp/admin/default.html

and click on the "Monitor Server Groups" link in the "Dispatching Module" menu.

Check if the web dispatcher sees both your servers.

Check also in SICF in logon groups are defined for the CRM BSP URLs.

Hi Giri

Are you sure about this ?

Do you have a reference that mentions this ?

If yes, then you answered the question.

Thank you.

Hi,

Giri is right for J2EE HTTP connections.

As you are using CRM with BSP, this is not the explanation for your case.

Dear all

I just got email from my customer who own the system.

They said that it's normal if we don't see any Dialog type in ST03 because they don't use SAP GUI at all in that app server. All client use BSP, SAP ITS/Web Dispatcher to interface with that app server, so we should only see HTTP and RFC.

That is the answer, but I don't understand the relationship between RFC and BSP, SAP ITS/Web Dispatcher. I will open an new thread for this.

Thank you have spending time in this thread.
