message type

I am doing IDOC to JMS scenario....

but i do see a Zmessage type for IDOC in tech spec....

i.e SHPMNT.SHPMNT05 is the idoc and

ZMSGTYPE_SHP is the message type....

is ZMSGTYPE_SHP an extension or ?

if not..what is the use of this...can some one explain me iwth an example....

Any ABAP object starting with "Y" or "Z" is customized objects.

when downloading SHPMNT.SHPMNT05 in IR should i download ZMSGTYPE_SHP also....or ?

Well if you want to use SHPMNT.SHPMNT05 IDOC then down SHPMNT05 in IR,if you want to use ZMSGTYPE_SHP then download ZMSGTYPE_SHP.

Since ZMSGTYPE_SHP is a customized object,i don't know what it is doing and what functionality it serves.

My suggestion would be to go as per your functional spec.

i didnt get u Aamir,

Normal IDOC will have Message type right..why do they go with Customized Message type....

even if i use that,we dont download it....will the message type would e taken at runtime...

To meet the Business reuirement,

Need to load the meta data ( Idx2 )
