Hi Harshvardhan,

U can change language on portal by using internationalization

in WebDynpro...

Hi Harshvardhan,

Just to share some of my expereince while working with translation.

First of all, the portal that I am currently working on does have a customize iView to change the portal language.

Basicaly the portal language is refelcted in

User Admin -> Identity Management, you will notice there is a Langugae field for the portal user.

This language setting has higher priority compare with the Internet option language setting in the browser.

The JCO connection to R3 system, we leave it as blank, so that whenever portal user access to R3 system,the login

language (sy-langu) will same as the portal language setting.

Invalid the Metadata cache in

System Admin->System config->Webdynpro console.

Some of the data element and text element does not reflect immediately due to the meta data cache in the portal, you need to invalidate those related Meta data dictionary then the translation will reflect.

Hope this will be helpful to you.

Hi ,

You can try the following:--

If the Backend user exist in Portal ,Go to Portal Identity Management and Search that user.

Modify the User and Set its locale to chinese.

Save the Changes.

Logout and Login Again With that user.

Hi Collaegues,

We got some update regarding this issue that:

"The following are the tables affected

A1S_CCI_SM_SLT

A1S_CCI_SM_SGT

A1S_CCI_SM_SVT

The tables do not have translated data."

I compared the system with other same SP level systems for mentioned three tables.

I noticed that for every SEVICE_KEY_ID other languages like EN,ZH,DE etc are mentionedin the three tables in other systems..But in this system(where issue persists) only EN language is defined for all SEVICE_KEY_ID.I also compared with mother system ,where also SERVICE_KEY_ID are in EN language.

But I am not sure because of this, WoC description is not coming in Chinese.

Kindly help me in this issue.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

I also checked parameter zcsa/installed_language in RZ10.The languages defined are " 1KNEFDI ".

But I am not sure that all the service_Key_ID must be defined in all the installed languages.

Thanks 7 Regards,

There is a file called prtDefault.prioerties in folder,

\j2ee\cluster\server0\apps\sap.com\irj\servlet_jsp\irj\root\WEB-INF\portal\system\properties

Change the property

#

  1. This is the default language to be used when none is specified

#

request.defaultlanguage=en

request.defaultcountry=us

From english to the required language.

Also Look for _ZH.properties or _ZH.xml and see whether they are helpful.

Hope it helps

Hi,

to change the portal language from english to chinese,

give the portal url,i,e goto login page, navigate to

tools->internet options

select the tab languages which will be at the bottom,

add the language u want and remove the other language which is there earlier and say ok .

then, refresh the page the changes will get reflected.

Hi,

Thank you for quick response.

I tried this,but still the description is not coming in the chinese.

1.i changed at backend to chinese,all workcentres are coming in chinese and also for some WoCs description is coming in language.

2.But when i changed the langauge for a particular user or specifying no user,nothing is changing.

The problem still persists.

Can you suggest me something more.
