Does anyone know how the partner function determined in Sales order.

System takes the Partner from the Customer master of the Sold-to-party,but the PARTNER FUNCTION MUST BE PRESENT in the Prtner determination procedure which is assigned to the Sales document type.

I mean, if the SH Partner function has not been assigned to the partner determination procedure , then in the Sales order ,it will not be populated from the Customer master.

Parnter functioned are determined on the basis of Sold to party v entered at the thime of VA01 and sales area. If u more than patner e.g. payer, bill to party or ship to party system will give you pop up message for selection.

Yes, Through partner determination procedure for Sales order and general default partner is Sold to party. Try and use t.code VOPA.
