Hello experts,

conneciton to database, session terminated".

I had restarted the server, now the problem is solved.

but i want to know what is the reason for that.

i was trying to take backup into tape drive.

first time it terminated with error " 903 Host file I/O error. could not open volume", so i again started and second time it says "no

conneciton to database, session terminated".

we are using MAXDB

any suggestion on what could have went wrong.

and any solutions.

thanks and regards,

kavitha

Hi Kavitha,

please post the knldiag / knldiag.old file.

Usually such an error is the consequence of another error (e.g. server restart).

Hi there,

the files are usually stored in the rundirectory of the database.

On Unix/Linux this is typically '/sapdb/data/wrk/<DBSID>'

On Windows it's similar, e.g. 'c:\sapdb\data\wrk\<DBSID>'.

Are you sure? That file is cyclically overwritten, if you scroll to the end you may not see something.

If that file is really empty you have a problem on your system...
