How to stop automatic numbering of Networks

Hi Guys,

Do we have any provision to stop the automatic network numbering and add our own numbering as we do for a WBS element? or atleast where should we change the number ranges for networks.

Hi,

Goto OPSC, on detail screen of your network type click on 'Number range' button at the bottom.

1. Select the check box for external number range

2. Double click on ur network type, so that it gets selected along with check box

3. Click Element/Group button at top.

Is the same procedure even in ECC6.0. I have not forund the external numbering check box in ECC6.0. Please do let me know.

Hi,

In that case you will have to find out which one is external number range. Just select the tick box of first number range and click 'Maintain' (first button on top). You will find tick box in the end of row 'Ext'. If that is ticked it is external number range and you can follow earlier procedure to link your network type to this range.

Also first have a look at all number ranges, if they have external in desc or A - ZZZZZZZZZZZZ, they are external.
