hi

Commodity codes group together materials that are similar in terms of customs

Commodity codes are customized in the IMG via:

Sales and distribution --> Foreign Trade/Customs --> Basic Data for Foreign Trade --> Define Commodity Codes / Import Code Numbers By Country

Thank you. That makes it clearer but when I created a chapter ID with the new Commodity code number and assigned it to the material number, it appeared in the control code field in MM03.

Is that the way to use this alternate code?

Also when I go into change mode in MM03 it says the number doesnt exist in the table but in the display mode it shows it without any problems.

Any thoughts?

Hi,

Where we create and assign it??

In j1id, you have to create commodity code in "Chapter ID" and assign to your material in "Material and Chapter ID combination".

Thanks,

raja

I am not sure I understand.

The Chapter ID and material combination can be used to create an alternate code? Is that what you mean.

I am trying it and its not working.
