Hello ,

The market scenario can be like this:

Like you have a record about a Customer regarding accounts balance in three places A,B,C(Plants).

These Plants sell products to the customer. Then at all the places the account balance should be same (updated). To have that the data from all is send to MDM where these records are consolidated (as explained above) its address/acc summary, debt values are updated and merged to have a single instance of record while preserving the remote keys.

Data consolidation means to enrich the data after importing the data from all the diff. remote systems of diff. ares into one central management system: MDM.

The links explains the market scenario and the solution step by step.

The consolidation process includes following steps:

Preserving/Managing keys,Assignments,Validating (Compliance) of records according to business standards,Matching strategies making,Finding duplicates,Merging duplicates .

Hope this may help u.

But since you are new to sdn, i want to tell you that points have to be rewarded to answers of your problems only.

Hi Jacks,

Yes ,points given are for assigning to the solution which helped u or the suggestion u like.

U can give the points to more than one user in the following way.:

10 points only once "Question Answered"

6 points: 2 times

2 points: I think many times.

As u gave some one 10 points the q will mark as answered and u will not gt any more replies. So till u not receive any gd answer let the question be open!!

If u will give points ,more people will be encouraged to give replies

Best of luck.

Hi Jack,

Master Data Consolidation u2014

In this scenario,

1. Users wield SAP NetWeaver MDM to collect master data from several systems at a central location

2. Detect and clean up duplicate and identical objects, and manage the local object keys for cross-system communication.

With this consolidated data, users can access the information they need to perform company-wide analyses and consolidated.

For example: Suppose Wipro have different branches like: Wipro Technologies, Wipro Limited, Wipro Infotech and each branch is doing business with the same customer. Each branch has its own name and is own id but overall it's a company called Wipro.

So, now if you see all these records are duplicate and hence give inconsistencies when this data is distributed in different departments of an organization. So we consolidate this data by sending it to MDM where all the information is consolidated, updated and managed properly.

Another example is:

Take one customer which has different branches located in different places buying same items from same supplier. As there are multiple versions of supplier and product details in different application systems ,lot of incostitencies are happened such as customer don't know total items they are buying and How much are they paying to supplier so that they can n't ask for price negotation from supplier.

Here consolidation imports the data from different systems located in different places, deduplicates the data and gives the correct picture to the customer so that they can go for price negotation from supplier.

Hi Jacks,

Master Data Consolidation means:

1. Load master data from client systems

2. Identification and consolidation of similar or identical objects

3. Provision of key mapping for unified, company wide analytics and business operations.

4. It aggregate master data across SAP and non- SAP systems into a centralized master data repository. Once data is consolidated, you can search for data across linked systems, identify identical or similar objects across systems, and provide key mapping for reliable company wide analytics and reporting.

In this scenario, these are the following steps:

1. Users use SAP net weaver MDM to collect master data from several systems at a central location,

2. Detect and clean up duplicate and identical objects, and manage the local object keys for cross-system communication.

3.With this consolidated data, users can access the information they need to perform company-wide analysis and consolidated.

Hope this will clear ur understanding.

Rgds
