Hi
I need someone to guide me on this.
Say i have installed my sap central instance and database (oracle) in server xyz.
and that server has totally crashed (including sap, database,OS files).
so what steps we need to take in order to rebuild my sap system ??
Do i need to install SAP, oracle and then go for disaster recovery?
thankyou

Hi,
Yes the restoring ofthe files will woprk.
This will be faster as you can brig up your system faster.
And also request license (SAP) for new hardware.
Thanks.

Once new system will be rebuilt,
then do i have to install sap and database manually
before start doing distaster recovery.

Dear Rajesh,
If you have last Backup/Restore Media(a.k.a. DR) including your OS/SAP/ and Database restore everything from the media to the new hardware and apply the license accrodingly. OS > SAP(/usr/sap...)>Database.
OR
Perform a fresh installation -
OS
SAP
then restore your last Database and Logs.
Cheers

Hi,
1. Do you have any DR (Disaster Recovery system), if yes use this system.
OR
2. Biuld the new system, ie fresh system and restore full db.
