Kernel Level w/Solution Manager 3.2?

Former Member

Sorry for my ignorance.

My latest earlywatch report for our Solution manager 3.2 (Currently on Kernel 6.20 LVL57)is asking that our Kernel be upgraded to 700_REL PL 22.

Is this accurate? Anyone have a note regarding this?

Thanks in Advance.

Hi Michael:

Your current kernel 6.20 is unsupported by SAP as of July 2005; you should upgrade ASAP to at least 6.40 latest patch level. You can also see if the current 7.00 kernel is also backward compatible for a 6.20 WAS (you Solution Manager 3.2) if so, you can upgrade your current kernel directly to 7.00 latest patch level.

Hope this helps!

This may be a stupid question, but I am trying to determine which versions of the kernel are supported by the different R/3 versions.

Simply speaking, are kernel versions 6.40 and 7.0 downward compatible with version R/3 4.6D?

Thank you in advance!

Hi,

For 4.x release, use kernel 4.6D_EXT.

For 6.x release, use kernel 6.40

For 7.00 release, use kernel 7.00

For each kernel, use the lastest patch...
