Experts,
We got PI 7.0 and decided to go ahead with PI 7.1 ,As a Intial step we plan to convert our Sandbox PI 7.0 to PI 7.1.
I like to know what is the step for it ( to convert to PI 7.1 ) & What will happen to the existing interface in the Sandbox ( which was developed in PI 7.0 )
Regards
Edward
Hey,
All objects in the Integration Repository (IR - Design) are available in the Enterprise SOA Repository (ESR) and can be used without any changes.
The Integration Directory (ID - Configuration) will not be affected at all ( Where we declare the Sender /Receiver Adapters ).
Mappings (graphical mapping, XSLT, Java mapping and ABAP mapping) will execute without any change
Need to Migrate System to 64 bit OS before upgrade PI 7.1 will not support 32 bit OS
Customer Adapters and Adapter modules have to be adjusted and redeployed ( To my knowledge we are not using any Customer Adapter & Adapter Module in 1 UP Project )
Java Proxies have to be redeployed because JAVA JVM is installed during upgrade and JAVA JDK not supported at all in PI 7.1
Cheers

Hi,
. PI 7.0 is the part of Netweaver 2004s and PI 7.1 is key entity in eSOA.
2. PI 7.1 have various mapping Enhancements as well as reusability of UDFs across the mappings etc. which is not available in PI 7.0
3. PI 7.1 comes with the concept of folders for more flexibale and Organized way of developements.
4. Advanced adapter engine is used in PI 7.1, which have overcome the various communication related limitations of previous versions

Hi,
Most of the objects in PI 7.0 (and XI 3.0) will be available after upgrade to PI 7.1. There might be minor adjustments required.
Only inplace upgrade is supported i.e. migration (content copy) is not possible. Also if you are on a 32 bit OS, you need to migrate to 64 bit OS before upgrade.
You can refer to the PI 7.1 Upgrade Guide published in the [SAP Service Marketplace|http://service.sap.com].
