Workflow is good and at the same time XI/PI or Web dynpro or EP(if u know the java) also good.

As you said you have ABAP Exp,You can gofor one of the following

1) You can choose BI

2) You can choose XI

For both these Technologies ABAP knowledge will be helpfull

IF you have ABAP exp(WITH basic knowledge on JAVA) then you can go for NETYWEAVER-XI

IF you have JAVA exp then you can go for NETWEAVER-EP
