Creating Cutomer Master Record - Maintaining Group Key.

Hi Friends,

While creating a customer using XD01 for country INDIA "IN", the message I get while saving is

" All "IN" customers should have a group key ".

What is this Group Key and where do we maintain it?

hi satish,

we maintain customers group in customisation in xn OVS9.

Or you can follow the menupath:

sales & distn---->master data-->business partners-->customers

---

>sales--->customer groups.

this group has to be maintained at the time of creating customer in Sales area data---->Sales tab---->customer group(field).

Rupali, I could create the customer for Germany as country, however when I try for IN it gives the same message even after maintaining the customer group. Company, Company Code, Sales Org are all created for IN. I wonder if its some FI setting.

Hi Satish,

There might be possibility of User Exit. Please check the following Function Module whether it is activated or not: EXIT_SAPMF02D_001

Also, you can enter the value in the field "Industry" and you can create a Customer Master.
