communication templates?

Hi, whlie designing in IR. I used to found Communication Channel Templates regularly. But I dont have any exact reason how and why we use Communication Templates. So, any of you help me in this regard. and explain how to use them. Thanks in advance. siva.

Hi,

You can preconfigure a communication channel with a communication channel template. You can use the communication channel template as a template to define a communication channel at configuration time.

If you want to create multiple communication channels with some identical configuration data, you should use a communication channel template.

we will be using CC templates if we are using Integration scenario.......

Assume that your team size is 2. and you are asked to work on IR and another Guy is asked to work on ID.then you will be knowing about all the interfaces and message mapping and interface mapping.so you need to give the actual picture of the design part to your coleague.so, you need to configure the integration scenario where you will be specifing the interfaces and MM and IMs...here you need to make use of CC templates......

and the main purpose of CC template is for RE USABILITY....

if you are asked to configure many scenarios of same type, then you can create a CC template, where, you can import it in your Configuration......

The communication channel template is for the documentation purpose that will give the information about the sender and receiver communication channels in IR. So No need to goto ID and check the related CCs each time for every scenario.

You can preconfigure a communication channel with a communication channel template. You can use the communication channel template as a template to define a communication channel at configuration time.

If you want to create multiple communication channels with some identical configuration data, you should use a communication channel template.

Steps

On the Parameters tab page, you can specify the following parameters for the communication channel template

To preconfigure the part of the communication channel that is specific to the adapter type, choose Select Attributes (). In the Select Attributes dialog you can select the input fields that you want to predefine for the communication channel from the available input fields for this adapter type. Select the field in the Available Fields box and choose Apply.

After selecting the attributes, choose Apply.

You can assign fixed values to the selected input fields in the Edit Communication Channel Template editor.

By selecting the Evaluate Conditions checkbox, you can define that field dependencies and certain field values should be taken into consideration when the selected fields are displayed.

Note: that all modules specified in a communication channel template are treated as a single parameter. This means that if you specify modules in the communication channel template and then use this communication channel template in a channel for which modules are already defined, all modules defined for the channel are overwritten.
