Deployment version (PAR file) in the portal

Whenever I upload a new PAR file via the Portal Archive Deployer & Remover I do not get any version information uploaded.

What file/information do I have to maintain so that the EP determines the version correctly?

Am I right in the assumption that afterwards the Portal always uses the latest version?

Hi Martin,

the PAR version information is to be put within a manifest file in the PAR, for details see /thread/30863 [original link is broken]

And as Rich already stated, yes, the portal uses the latest version after the deployment immediately.

(This does <i>not</i> hold for KM PARs which provide KM functionality through registering at CRTClassLoader - KM hot deployment isn't supoorted and it is advised to restart the server for not having a totally undefined state).

I was under the impression that once you upload the par, you are overwriting the previous version of the par and the new par is effective immediately. I was not aware of any versioning as it relates to par files.
