Hi,
I have to work on few mail scenario's i.e, sender and reciever.
Please let me know what all configurations are required in XI server to make the system ready to send and recieve mail like SMTP configurations...
Thanks..
When XI receives mail, using mail sender adapter, then it is same as any other message for XI. So no additional configuration is required.
When XI sends mail, using mail receiver adapter, u have to provide the smtp server address to be used to send the mail. This smtp server may not be necessarily XI system and usually an external mail server is used. So here also, no additional config is reqd
The SCOT config at XI is required only in case of Alerts, wherein it is purely responsibilty of XI to send mail

Hi Snehal,
This should help you -
[Sending Emails Using XI Mail Adapter (i.e. Configuring the Receiver Mail adapter)|http://www.riyaz.net/blog/index.php/2008/02/23/xipi-sending-emails-using-xi-mail-adapter/]
[Configuring the Sender Mail Adapter|http://www.riyaz.net/blog/index.php/2008/02/27/xipi-configuring-the-sender-mail-adapter/]
Edit: I believe Mail adapter is shipped with XI installation. If you are unable to find the adapter in ID or RWB, check if the service corresponding to mail adapter is active in your visual administrator panel.

Riyaz

Indeed the threads provided are helpful but they talk about how to configure mail adapter whereas i am looking for information on what configurations to be done to make our mail adapter.
Lets say we have a new XI server and do not have any configuration for mail adapter then what all we have to do ?
MAIL ADAPTER
how to use mail adapter
XI: Dynamic name in the mail attachment - pseudo "variable substitution"
XI: Sender mail adapter - PayloadSwapBean - Step by step
XI: HTML e-mails from the receiver mail adapter ?
Mail Adapter (XI) - how to implement dynamic mail address
S/MIME Security for the MAIL-Adapter within XI
reward points if helpfull
