Hi,

We apply name search on search criteria rather than directly on records.

Hi,

Masks are dynamic. To Create Masks, follow the steps below:

1. Go to Data Manager in the Record Mode and select the table Masks from the drop down on the left hand side.

2. Create a mask and add records you want to put in the masks.

3. Now select your main table. After that, select the masks under search parameters.

4. Click on the mask created by you and you will see all the records.

Named Search is static. To Create Named Search, steps are as follows:

In MDM Data Manger, Named Searches can be created in Record mode by selecting Named Searches Table

1. In the Records pane, select the record(s) which user wants to include in the Named Searches either using Free-form search or by using Drill-Down search.

2. Then from the main menu, choose Search -->Saved as Named Search -->this will add the selected records to the previously created Named Search in Record mode.

Note: The Named search is stored by the search criteria.

Check have you added the records by any search criteria or not.

Hope it will help you.

Hello Richa,

Mask are static in nature and Named searches are dynamic in MDM.

Please edit in your thread if you can. It might be confused for others.

you can add certain records to the Mask as per your search criteria or can select the records which you want to put in a mask and add them into mask.

But in Named searches, when you create any named search, it creats a perticular search criteria and later when you add any record in data manager and it matches the search criteria which you have defined for the named search then this record automatically add in to Named search but in Mask you have to add manually this record if you wand to add in Mask.

Hi,

Create Masks in console.

After adding masks in console, you can select records in Data manager and right-click.

You will see the options add to mask, remove from mask and replace in mask.

Saved Search is available in Data manager directly in Search menu bar.

Hi NM,

Name searches are created as follows:

Make the Named Searches table the current table and add the record. The MDM data manager includes the ability to save all of the current search selections to a named search in the Named Searches table and then restore them at a later time.

1. Choose Search > Save as Named Search from the main menu.

2. Select the named search to which you want to save the current search

selections from the cascading menu of named searches.

To see the fields on which u have applied name search go to the search selection tab and restore the name search. Here u can see the Fields of searches.

To make masks :follow the link
