Moving the print spool process from CI on UNIX to Windows box

Can anyone share their experience in doing this?

We are talking about doing this to allow the Microsoft AD print spool handle the sap output instead of the unix print queueu2026

We are on ECC 5.0 Oracle SUN Solaris 9

Yes,,,, we are starting to have problems with UNIX print queues that need to be reset often.

It was suggested to take the print spool off the UNIX boxes and build an NT app server to be the print server. That way SAP hands off to the network controlled printers.

Does this sound possible - or a good idea??

Simply setup the printers in the new Windows print server and change the details of each printer is SPAD to point to the new location. You may have to change from Method C to Method U.
