Hello Abhay,

Below mentioned are the answers to your queries.

1- Is it mendatory to use solman for BW also?

No, it is not manadatory to use SOLMAN for BW or for that matter any project.

SOLMAN is is SAP's service and support platform to help implement and operate your SAP solution efficiently which is recommended to use but is not mandatory.

2. How it helps across non sap components?

While defining your system landscape you can include the NON SAP systems also which are part of your solution. Solman can be used to manage the service level management/ application management and reporting for these components. Ofcourse some ground work and prerequisites need to be done before this.

3- What are the sap operations?

SAP operation refers to the stage of a customer solution lifecycle post implementation. Based on the proper monitoring of operations the next stage of the lifecycle becomes continuous improvement for which operational reporting/management data becomes input.

Hope this helps you. Pls assign points.

This is not quite true - if you implement BI 7.0 then you need to use Solution Manager and Maintenance Optimizer to get your patches.

see above.
