Resource related billing

Hi all,

We are implementing a resource related billing scenario for our client. In this scenario customers can have multiple contracts with each contract having multiple items which are to be periodically serviced during the contract period. We are planning to have Maintenance plans from Customer service module that will generate planned service orders which will contain Service products, Billing form, DIP Profile for RRB.Once the work related to service order is executed and time and material confirmed, an auto daily batch run would be done (using DP90 variant) required that would check service orders in Finalized state and generate bills automatically with the dynamic items.Since this scenario is new to us, would be grateful if you could guide us on:

1) How to create service products, how to attach them to contract, and relevant configuration settings.

2) Billing plan and relevant configurations.

3) DIP Profile and relevant configurations that might be necessary

4) Any other aspect to be set up.

Your views would be suitably rewarded with points.

Dear Subhrajyoti,

1. Service Products will be used in case of Service Order just like any service material with reference to your notification, in case Spares are also coming into picture in the same order then you need to make the service product as a configured service product and then use the warranty procedure for that particular Contract.

Please do remember to differentiate between configurable/configured material.

Do read PLM 301 & PLM 335 for better understanding of this area

2. Billing Plan: whether you are using milestone related billing or periodic billing, the congiguration will be maintained at the Billing Plan and also in Sales Document & Item catagory level.

3. DIP is basically for RRB related aspects in PM & CS (under PLM), service.sap.com is having a good consulting note on DIP.

Refer the same from there.

Reward Point if it helps,

Regards,
