I got an error when installing a Java system to SAP Netweaver 04.
Please tell me what I need to do to continue with the installation.
The error and log information is below.
Thank you.
The install was from the SAP Netweaver 04 Installation Master DVD from the following menu:
Java system -> database -> Central System -> Default Installation -> Java System
I have already installed
Oracle 91
The SAP Central Instance
The SAP Database Instance
The SAP Dialog Instance
This is being installed on a Microsoft Windows 2000 5.00.2195 (Service Pack 4) machine.
I am logged in as administrator with all priveleges.
The error occurred when "Checking for free SAP Instance Numbers for SAP System J2EE..."
Here is the log message:

Hi, i guess Paulo Martins posted a similar problem on Sept. 29th last year. The solution works well. You should give it a try.
Best,
Markus

In case someone else comes across this thread: I found another solution (because running in Safe Mode did not solve the problem for me). I deleted the permission for group SYSTEM for this key, and the assigned full rights to group Administrators. It was neccessary to go into the advanced view to do this, because simply adding Administrators did not work. After this change, the installation worked fine.
Actually the Java Add-in gives the exact same error.
It appears that SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Disk
is not an editable key in the registry.
Any ideas on how to proceed?

I think I found the problem.
I need to install the Java Add-in for ABAP
not the Java System
