Unable to startup J3EE?

Hi,

I am trying to install SAP Web AS but failed during the final step unable to start up J2EE. I checked the dev_jcontrol file and found the following error.

[Thr 2064] *** ERROR => invalid return code of process [bootstrap_ID8514350] (exitcode=-2) [jstartxx.c 1433]

[Thr 2064] JControlExecuteBootstrap: error executing bootstrap node [bootstrap_ID8514350] (rc=-2)

[Thr 2064] JControlCloseProgram: started (exitcode = -2)

[Thr 2064] JControlCloseProgram: good bye... (exitcode=-2)

Any idea on what this error? Please help.

Hello Wai Meng,

I couldn't see any error in the bootstrap trace files. I have found a previous case that was solved by downgrading the JDK version to 1.4.2_13 from 1.4.2_18. Is this your case? What is your JDK version? You can try to change the JDK version as described in the SAP note 718901.

Hi,

Is the bootstrap_ID<instance Number> able to acess

bootstrap.properties? because JControl starts a Java instance bootstrap process with parameters that are

defined in the file bootstrap.properties /usr/sap/<SID>/<instance>/j2ee/clus-

ter/bootstrap)

And even do check instance.properties file where bootstrap process stores the instance description, at operating system level. ( in the j2ee\cluster directory )

And even check whether the profile directory is able to access or not.

In addition to the files instance.properties and bootstrap.properties, profile files are imported when starting a Java instance

Hello Wai Meng,

As I can see from the dev_jcontrol, there is a problem in the bootstrap of the server node (bootstrap_ID8514350 - finishes with 50, so server node). To get more information about the problem, please post here the content of trace files jvm_bootstrap_ID8514350.out and std_bootstrap_ID8514350.out.

Hi Deepak,

Thanks for the reply. However, the error code I got is -2. In the note, it seem to be refering to error code 66 which I have resolved earlier. Any idea on what code -2 is?
