Plant specific customer master number range

Is their is any option available in SAP for assigning plant specific number range to customer master record ?

Hi,

It is not advisable to maintain customer master data palnt specific number range, bcz for future needs u may have to extend the same customer to different plants.

Still ur requirement is to maintain plant specific number range u can maintain the number range for account group. Plant wise u have to define account groups then only it is possible.

Dear Chentan,

No you cannot maintain Plant specific number ranges. WHat you can do is create seperate Customer account groups (SH, SP, BP, PY) for each Plant & assign unique number rages to eacg group.

But the above is recomended only if you have couple of plants say 2 or 3 plants. If you have multiple plants then it would to confusions. Also the standard system would not give Customer's outstanding Plant-wise & it can only give company code wise.

Thus having seperate Customer's number range for each plant does not seems to be much beneficial...

Hi

U can maintain Customer a/c grps for different plants and assign a unique no. range for each A/c grp

This will only increase the no. of a/c grps as for each plant you have to subcategorise plants as per SP,SH,One-time customer etc..
