"Application Not Found" Error

Former Member

I am a Java developer new to Web Dynpro. I am receiving the error "http://[ipName]:[port]/webdynpro/dispatcher/local/Welcome/WelcomeApplication?SAPtestId=4 when trying to run the tutorial example (via "Deploy New Archive and Run" option), even though it appears to have deployed successfully. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Do you have any messages in the deployment log in NWDS?

Does it say that it was successful in deployment?

The Deploy output view states that it was deployed successfully. I suspect some kind of configuration issue, but don't know where to start to look

I hope message server port was a typo. If not it should be 3601.

It appears to be abbreviating my host name. For example, I am expecting it to be jdcs0029.cmg.companyName.com:50900/webdynpro/local/..., what is generated is jdcs0029:50900/webdynpro/local/...

When I access externally via IE (rather than deploy and run) it comes up.

What did you specify as hostname in the Web Dynpro preferences -> J2EE engine?

Selected "SAP J@EE engine is installed on remote host, with message server host as jdcs0029.cmg.companyName.com and message server port as 3610

Hello,

alright, check the following things:

- check if you can find the webdynpro via <a href="http://<host>:<port>/index.html">http://<host>:<port>/index.html</a>. There you follow the web dynpro link and the content administrator link. There you need to find your wd application and it must be enabled (if not you can enable it here). You can also run it here.

- if you get a stacktrace or something like that, post it so we have more info about the error

Do you get a stacktrace in the browser or where do you get an error?
