WHILE DOING FILE TO IDOC AND IDOC TO FILE . IS IT MANDATORY OR NOT TO HAVE 2 RFC DESTINATION BOTH SIDE ( R/3 AND XI SIDE ). AND WHY
Hi,
While Doing Idoc---File===>> Two sides RFC Destinations are mandatory
Why because At R/3 side we need it because we have to send the Idocs to XI
In XI Side we need RFC Destination because while Importing the Metadata of Idoc it requires.
While Doing File----Idoc===>> It requires at XI side because we have to post the Idoc From XI to R/3
having the RFC Destination at R/3 side is Optional. It requires when you are filling the control record values from the Payload. that too if you require, otherwise not required

Hi Venkata Ramana,
Yes you need to create the RFC Destination in both sides, because RFC Destination is connection between R/3 system and XI system.
once RFC Destination is created u can log on to the XI system throught remote logon from R/3 system
same thing like happen in XI system.

Skumar
