Authorization on Orignal attached File

Hi SAP Gurus,

I am attaching AutoCAD[DWG file] & PDF file in one DIR. I would like authorization on Application Type. Mins one some group of people only open the AutoCAD file, all other user open only PDF file.

Is there any standard authorization object for that ? If no then is it possible through ABAP ?

This is not available standard, it is available as an enhancement.

A simple solution to this is to set a default view application (the PDF). When this happens, if the user is in display mode, only the default view application (PDF) will be displayed in the originals area, when they enter the DIR in change mode, the other file will appear. This may seem like a problem but in most cases, when the document is released the user cannot change the original in change mode anyway so this will not affect your document security.

To make sure that only the right people see the right files, I would recommend to implement a little enhancement which uses the authorization objects from the groups.
