Hello everybody.
We have to test a migration of our Maxdb from Linux Server to Windows Server 2003.
We have the sap.inst executed, System Copy process until restore time done, we have restored the database-backup and database run. Sapinst process until end ok.
But if we try SAP to starten in MMC, then msgserver runs in green, strdbms.cmd is red (cannot be executed) and the disp+work entry service in MMC runs (green) only few seconds and then is killed (but not in ABAP workprocesses - here they are immediately ended).

What should we check? We have already the server restarted and one kernel upgrade done.
Is there anything that we had to do before SAP to start?

"strdbms.cmd is red"
On the MAX DB side, have you re-loaded the system tables and confirmed that the DB is operational?
Thanks,
J. Haynes

Hi Alberto,
the DBMS_TYPE should of course not be set to MSS - you're using a MaxDB not a MS SQL Server.
Anyhow, the cause for your problem is this:
>B create_con (con_name=R/3)
>B Loading DB library 'C:\usr\sap\X01\DVEBMGS03\exe\dbsdbslib.dll' ...
>M *** ERROR => DlLoadLib: LoadLibrary(C:\usr\sap\X01\DVEBMGS03\exe\dbsdbslib.dll) Error 126 >http://dlnt.c 237
>B *** ERROR => Couldn't load library 'C:\usr\sap\X01\DVEBMGS03\exe\dbsdbslib.dll'
For some reasong the dbslib for MaxDB cannot be loaded.
As this is usually not an issue on Windows systems I propose you check if you've actually installed the correct version of the dbsdbslib.dll and that the required Visual C++ runtime DLLs are installed.
regards,
Lars

Check the user environment variables, I think you are still using the old settings. DBMS_TYPE needs to be: mss
