Hi Chandra,
1.TagQuery
Use this type to create templates that will access Tag-oriented data sources (such as historians and Human Machine Interface applications).
2.SQLQuery
Use this type to create templates that will access SQL-oriented data sources (such as MSSQL or Oracle).
3.AlarmQuery
This type is used only with Wonderwareu2019s AlarmSuite database. Please consult the Help Documentation or contact SAP xMII Support for assistance.
4.XMLQuery
Use this type of query to access external XML data and return the in standard SAP xMII format.
5.XacuteQuery
This type of query is used to query the result of a Business Logic transaction.
6.OLAPQuery
This type of query is used to retrieve data from a data warehouse, where data is stored in a cubed or multi-dimensional format u2013 SAP BW (Business Information Warehouse) is one such example.
7.AggregateQuery
Deprecated
There are six tabs that are common to all query types. These six tabs include the Data Source, General, Date Range, Parameters, Transform, and Security tabs. The remaining tabs are dependent upon the query type
In dataSource,
Servers is a list of all the available data servers determined by the connector type. Note that the description defined in the Data Server Editor appears next to the server name.
Modes define what type of function the connector is to perform. Every connector has its own set of modes, though each class of connectors has a predefined list of modes that it is expected to support.
In General,
1.Row Count: The number of rows the query should return. The data source may contain many more rows, but only the number of rows set here will be returned.
2.Number Format: The number of decimal places the data should display.
3.Query Caching: Used to define whether a query should be cached, and if so, how long the data should be considered u201Cfreshu201D.
In Date Range,
The Date Range tab is used to assign parameters used
in the selection of a date range for time-sensitive queries. In a
Tag or Alarm query, this date filter is applied to the timestamp column. In a SQL Query, this date filter is applied to the Date column that is set on the SQL Query Details tab (to be discussed later in this presentation).
The Date Ranges are prioritized, following a bottom-to-top schema. The Schedule parameter has the highest priority, followed by Time Period, then Time, and finally, the Start Date and End Date parameters.
In Parameters,
On this tab, you can set up to 32 default parameter values to a query. Some typical use cases include:
u2022To set the value of a u201CWHEREu201D clause in a SQL query, eliminating the issue of proper quoting.
u2022To bind input parameters to an XacuteQuery that will be passed to a Business Logic Transaction.
u2022To fill in a piece of a URL for an XML Query
In Security,
u201CEveryoneu201D is the default Reader Role.
u201CAdministratorsu201D and u201CDevelopersu201D are the default Writer Roles.
Individual templates can be secured for reading and writing based on the useru2019s role.
I have explained you because it will give you an overview of Query templates in a very much better way.
This is the general and common description. For brief explanation on TagQuery,AlarmQuery,OlapQuery,SqlQuery, xacuteQueryu2026 Go through the links mentioned above.

Hi,
SAP xMII Query actions are designed to load an XML document in SAP xMII format returned from any SAP xMII Query. The document is stored in the Results parameter for usage in the Link Editor when linking actions together.
All SAP xMII query objects have a similar configuration. You select a Query Template by browsing the servers templates, and then you can set specific parameter name-value pairs. The parameter names are specific to the query type, and are also browse-able.
There are 7 different types of query.
1)SQL Query(Getting the data from the SQL table)
2)TAG Query(Getting data from iHistorian)-Real time data
3)Xacute Query(To execute a transaction it is used)
4)Aggragate Query
5)XML Query
6)OLAP Query
7)Alarm Query
You go through the following link to know about the Query Template.
