XI OR MIDDLE WARE

Hi Experts ,

Presently we have SRM 5.0 , but i have a querry that why we are using XI instead of Middleware .

Pls suggest your kind concerns .

Hi,

Your question is not clear, if you are talking about SUS, then SAP designed to use XI for the document transfer.

In SRM middleware is designed mainly for material and service master data transfer.

Hope this will answer your question, let me know if need any further information on XI and middleware related to SRM.

Hi ,

actually my requiremnt is to know why we are not using MIDDLEWARE , its a application which is basically used for the CRM .

I feel now u are clear about it .

don't think that CRM middleware can transmit the information in form of XML (extensible mark up language) form.

The external component of SRM like SUS, CCM requires XML messages by design.

So if you have these components in landscpe XI becomes mandatory.

because XI can output XML with input of IDOC or other forms.

Xi and middleware are two different things

XI is used when document exchange is involved between different systems....

for example SUS and also ROS for Business partners.

Middleware is used for product replication from R/3 to SRM.
